What is the Iberpass Global Roaming Mobile Assistant service and account ? - Back to top

The international access account provides easy dial-up access to the Internet from more than 37,000 points of presence (POPs) in 150 countries around the access points. This service is enabled using the networks of top-tier network access providers throughout the world, and through our centralized clearinghouse and settlement system. With the Iberpass International Access Account, individual and corporate users can access the web, corporate data, read and send email from anywhere in the world with a local telephone call, Toll-Free, Wi-Fi or Broadband connection, gaining significant cost savings over solutions requiring internal modem banks, long-distance or toll-free connection charges, multiple ISP accounts.

You just have to Sign-Up on line through a secured encrypted connection. You will be ask to add funds to your account and to download or get by email the Auto Install iPassConnect.

Do you provide Wi-Fi and broadband connections ? - Back to top

Yes, we currently provide more than 14000 access points around the world. This coverage increases almost every day and the IberPass Global Roaming Mobile Assistant will be updated automatically. Can I use my current E-Mail program anywhere, anytime ? - Back to top

Yes, and this may be a good reason why you should use our services. No need to use a web mail. Just check and send your emails as if you were at home or in your office.

Are Airports and Hotels mostly covered ? - Back to top

Wi-Fi Hotspots cover all major airports and hotels. Of course the Dial Up mode will always allow you to connect from any hotel. The number of Wi-Fi Hotspots tends to increase and is updated every week.

Why should a Corporate choose us ? - Back to top

If you plan to open more than 10 accounts, we strongly recommend to open a Corporate Account. Apart from our services and a secure access to your internal server, you will have the possibility to manage each Sub-Account from your Master Account, create new Sub-Accounts, change passwords, check the usage and follow up all technical tickets for each individual sub-account. What are your rates ? - Back to top

Rates are available per country using the following link: Cost of services. It is important to keep in mind that we bill per second of use. The usage will be debited from your account balance. You can follow your detailed usage on-line thanks to the Iberpass Global Roaming Mobile Assistant.

How do you bill for services ? - Back to top

Dialup: Billing is per second of use, with no minimum and no rounding-up. The rates are set per country in Cost of services.
Wi-Fi and broadband: one price for all countries, billing per second of use.

How do I credit my account ? - Back to top

At the signup, the minimum initial account balance is 50 EUR/USD that will be charged on you credit card. After you will be able to add funds to your account, beside the credit card you can also use the multi-currency PayPal system. To make it even simpler, you can select the "Auto Maintain my account" feature at any time. This "top-off" feature will maintain your account balance at a preset amount. Corporate accounts are subject to personalized terms. Please do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

There is no monthly or setup fee.

Do I have to pay for the phone calls ? - Back to top

Toll-Free numbers: our rates (check TollFree availability per country) include the phone call charges. You will surely appreciate this option when staying in a hotel or a friend’s house.
Regular Numbers: (modem or ISDN) connections, you'll be charged for the local call by your local phone line provider.
For WIFI and broadband: no phone cost.

Can I cancel at any time? What is the "Sleeping Mode" Warranty ? - Back to top

Basically, there is no need to cancel your account. The Sleeping Mode Warranty ensures that your account cannot be billed or used for as long as you require. To reactivate your account is easy, just log in to your member area with your username and password and add funds on your account or just call us. If for any reason you require the cancellation of your account, it will be cancelled and your remaining balance refunded to you. We will not charge any fees for canceling your account - you always pay only for what you use!!!

What is the Startup Balance ? - Back to top

The amount fixed by you will be deposited into your Global Roaming account and counted against the use of the services made by you.
You can decide at any time to increase your account balance and/or change limitations of usage to be pre-set by yourself.
You can do so manually or automatically up to the limit of your account balance using your member area.
When the account balance falls below 5.00 USD/EUR it will be automatically topped up to 20.00 USD/EUR, if you do not add funds on your account. Your credit card will be automatically debited, the amount charged is the difference between the account balance and 20.00 USD/EUR.

What is the Auto-maintain option ? - Back to top

As alternative choice you can change your account setup to "auto maintain my account" in that case you fix your balance maximum amount and when the balance drop below a limit the balance is reset to the maximum. You need to have always a valid credit card on your file otherwise your account will be put "On Hold", if we are unable to process the payment, until we receive a valid credit card and the payment is processed.
Without the "Auto-Maintain" selected, if your account balance becomes negative the amount will be charged to your credit card and the account put in hold until you add funds to your account balance.

Will I receive an invoice for my monthly usage ? - Back to top

The service charges for roaming will be itemized in your monthly billing, easily accessible on-line using our sophisticated control panel which includes invoices, payment, current and past balances as well as an overall summary of your account.
The minimum invoicing for your monthly usage is 5.00 USD/EUR.
If you don't use the service no billing will be issued for that month and no minimum or additional charges will be applied.

iPassConnect supports Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT, ME, XP, AND Mac OS 8.x up to 9.1 and OS X platforms. For all PDA - Palm's platforms Windows CE, Palm 3.1, 3.5, 4.0, handheld PC, Pocket PC devices - more information is available in our Pda's support page. All other operative systems support manual dialup connections

What types of connection (access methods) do you provide ? - Back to top

Dial-up (modem, ISDN), broadband (cable) or Wi-Fi. Depending on your location and availability you can choose between one of those different options in your iPassConnect.

Can I send and receive emails using my current email accounts and program ? - Back to top

Yes, you can.

Do you provide Global SMTP server ? - Back to top

Yes, we provide a global SMTP that will allow you to send email from all over the world.

How do I find the Access numbers or Wi-FI hotspots when I'm traveling ? - Back to top

You will find all the access points in the iPassConnect. You can get this program from the download section. This connection tool provides a simple point-and-click interface that allows you to select the country and city where you are. You will then see a list of the available local access points. Just click on the location of your choice and connect.

Can I use my mobile phone to connect ? - Back to top

Yes, you can easily use your mobile phone to connect. The provided application (iPassConnect) will allow you to use your mobile phone as a modem (if your mobile phone supports internet connection, please refer to your phone’s documentation). You can also connect with your mobile phone without using your computer if needed (again see your phone’s documentation).

Can I use the IberPass Global Roaming service for secure access (VPN) to my corporate network ? - Back to top

Yes, iPassConnect is prepared to accept the VPN client and all access points are VPN ready. When used in conjunction with a virtual private network (VPN) solution, authorized Cisco services, etc, you can gain secure access to your corporate network. The service is interoperable with all industry leading VPN, firewall and token card solutions.

How do I get technical support when I'm traveling ? - Back to top

We provide you 24x7 technical support line, email and chat services, including Toll free number See the Technical Support for more information. This support can be provided in English, French or Spanish.

Do I need special power plugs or phone jacks when I travel ? - Back to top

In some countries you will require different power cords, plugs and phone jacks. All information is provided in the Member area and our support team will always be ready to help you.

What shall I do before a business trip ? - Back to top

We strongly recommend that you establish your first connection at your current location so you can check your setups. If you have any question you will appreciate to be able to count on our technical support before leaving.
